Dollar Tree Craft Idea — Hurricane Vase

To you this might look like just a
simple glass candlestick holder but I see the base for an endless array of really cool crafts. Every time I stop in my Dollar Tree I
find other candle holders, vases and glassware that I can pare with one of
these for a whole new look. I mean really the possibilities are
endless. With just a little bit of glue I’m able to make apothecary jars, hurricane vases, cupcakes stands even funny gift ideas like this wine glass and to make each item only costs me a couple of bucks. Today I want to show you how to make a hurricane vase but using the same techniques you can make any of the items you see here. You’ll need a glass candlestick holder
for the base, a flared glass vase, sand paper and glue. Now make sure you use a glue that adheres to class. Today I’m going to use some super glue that I bought at Dollar Tree. First lightly sand the bottom of the vase and the top of the candlestick holder. This gives the glue a rougher surface to hold onto, making the bond stronger. Wipe the areas that use sanded to remove any dust. Next put glue on both the bottom of the vase and the top the candlestick holder. Press the two pieces together then pull them apart and let them stand for about 10 minutes. This process allows the glue to have a
stronger bond. Now if you’re using a different type of glue make sure you follow the instructions on your glue for the best results. After 10 minutes press the two pieces
together, set them aside and let them dry for 24
hours. Once the pies dry your ready for the fun part. Decorating I made one and filled it with lemons for a stylish look in my kitchen. I also made one to put on my mantle. I filled it with river rocks and the candlestick, both from Dollar Tree, for this cool look. So easy. So affordable and so many different
looks. I really hope you enjoyed this Dollar Tree idea. Stop by your Dollar Tree or go to and see what ideas you can come up with.
