Heart Of Glass – Vintage ’40s “Old Hollywood” Style Blondie Cover ft. Addie Hamilton

Once had a love And it was a gas Soon turned out Had a heart of glass Seemed like the real thing Only to find Mucho mistrust Love’s gone behind Once had a love And it was divine Soon found out I was losing my mind Seemed like the real thing But I was so blind Mucho mistrust Love’s gone behind In between What I find is pleasing And I’m feeling fine Love is so confusing There’s no peace of mind If I fear I’m losing you, babe Once had a love And it was a gas Soon turned out Had a heart of glass Seemed like the real thing Only to find Mucho mistrust Love’s gone behind Lost inside Adorable illusion And I cannot hide I’m the one you’re using Please don’t push me aside If I fear I’m using you Riding high on love’s true bluish light Once had a love And it was a gas Soon turned out Had a heart of glass It seemed like the real thing Only to find Mucho mistrust Love’s gone… behind

  1. A friend of mine actually did a cover of this song in a slow ballad, I think somewhat before this recording came out. He goes by Pepper Coyote, look him up! Brilliant singer-songwriter.

  2. Scott Bradlee, you are a musical genius! Your arrangements make bad songs good, and, good songs, like this one, BREATHTAKING! Also, it must be awesome to get to play with so many incredible musicians, and, vocalists!

  3. I love your Nostalgia girl..Way to play it everyone.. way to sing it Addie.. Thank you for sharing.. Xo

  4. Nothing worse than people Trying too hard to be Trendy. Nothing like ruining a classic with narcissistic garbage of today's so called artists.

  5. Lovely…lovely …this Vintage rendition from vocal interpretation and music arrangement is sehr süß , cheesy, classy flirty …watching it over again

  6. wow. until I heard this video, I never realized that time periods have accents. But holy crap Addie is singing in a 1940's accent. that is kind of cool to me. That and the thought that time periods have their own accents.

  7. WOW!!! AMAZING! By far my favorite. Great choice of song it actually feels right. This girl is an amazing singer for the era. Let's hear lots more from her in the same lounge style.

  8. Pretty good all around. Now, if Blondie had did this cover of their own song (a la 1980's "Faces" style), in 1980, this would have been truly DIVINE.

  9. What a superb collaboration all round – the cinematography, the musicians, the location and the singing. All are top shelf stuff. Addie has that certain indescribable something ( je ne sais quoi ?) that really makes her stand out and it's more than just the Veronica Lake look.

  10. We play this music at my job. I would so love to hear her voice than some of the people who play. Just has this down pat.

  11. OMG the original is amazing but this version is incredible, it sounds to me almost like if it was the original one, I mean, it sounds like it was meant for a version like this. Great! Good job guys!!!!

  12. A huge fan of the original and Ms. Harry and was surprised at how well the piece morphed over to this style.  Great job PMJ and Ms. Hamilton!  Two thumbs way up!

  13. They changed the lyrics, repeating "soon turned out had a heart of glass" instead of the actual second time around where the lyric is, "soon turned out to be a pain in the ass".

  15. Absolutely heavenly. Love it. I am in my late 60s and I was raised on this music. My parents had dozens of old 78 rpm records. I could listen to Addie all day.

  16. Awesome film clip. Also prefer this singing style – much smoother to listen to. Sometimes the playlist gets a bit screechy with more enthusiasm than vocal skill. ( ouch) but this is perfecto

  17. I've searched all my life for an upside to the second law of thermodynamics. I finally found it.

  18. Congratulations to whoever is responsible for the look of this vid. Everything works perfectly all the way down to Addie's hair which is so Veronica Lake.

  19. Amazing. Addie's singing is wonderful and I'm super impressed by how flawlessly accurate the band can play in this style.
