Welcome to TFC Media Planet Leaf… He is an example for intelligence. There is no competitor for him in making strategies. Even the great people must become the victim due to his ruse. In Mahabaratha, he is the one who was responsible the Kurukshetra War which caused immeasurable loss of life. He is Shakuni who is the expert in intrigue and ruse. We all know the greatness of intelligence and political counters by Shakuni. But now I am going to show many unknown facts about Shakuni in this video. According to the thinking of many people… Shakuni had favoured Kauravas… And believe that he made many strategies to kill Pandavas… But the unknown fact is… He was not in favouring in anybody. He is the first person who thought to end the entire Kuru line. He is the one who had the lifetime achievement to kill the entire Kauravas and Pandavas who belongs to Bhishma’s family. Why did Shakuni decide to take revenge on Kuru dynasty? How did he initiate the great War of Kurukshetra? To know such things, we have to know the history of Shakuni. Shakuni was born in Gandhara kingdom. The present-day it was called as Gandhar which is in Afghanistan. The king of that Gandhara Kingdom was Subala. He had a hundred sons and one daughter. Shakuni was the younger one among those hundred sons. His sister was Gandhari. All of them were greatly devoted to Lord Shiva. Shakuni was very fond of his sister Gandhari it seems. Among hundred sons of Subala, since the beginning, Shakuni had formed a special status for him. Since the childhood, he was very interested in politics, gambling along with master of sorcery. Many legendary people were surprised for his intelligence it seems. Meanwhile, his sister Gandhari reached young age. When Subala thought to get her married… They came to know that she had Kujadosha. As the remedy for that dosha, she was married to a Goat and it was killed after the ceremony it seems. Astrologers and Pandits said that she can get rid of dosha by doing likewise it seems. Subala who thought that their honour will get ruin if the outsiders come to know this… Keeping it as a secret, he sent the message to all the kingdoms to get her married. At that time, mother of Dhritharashtra, Ambika saw Gandhari and said… With the beauty like Apsarasa, eyes like lotus… The beauty of Gandhari can grab everyone’s attention and mesmerize in first look itself. She sent the message to the king of Gandhara Subala thinking that… She wants the beauty as her daughter-in-law and wife of Dhritharashtra. Subala who does not want to get his daughter married with visually challenged Dhritarashtra refused her proposal. Due to that, Ambika became angry and asked Bheeshma to do war against the Gandhara Kingdom… She also asked him to bring Gandhari and get her married with Dhritharashtra… But Bheeshma averted that is not the right thing to do. When Ambika asked him to do what he has owed to her… As there was no other way, Bheeshma attacked the Gandhara Kingdom. Subhala who could not bear Bheeshma’s attack… With the idea given by Shakuni, he got compromised with Bheeshma. Here, Shakuni thought that… Making the blind Dhritharashtra trust him if he kills Bheeshma at the right time… He thought that he could take the great Hasthinapura Kingdom into his custody. According to this alliance, Gandhari was married to Dhritharashtra. After their marriage, a few years later, Dhritharashtra who came to know that Gandhari was first married off to a goat… He was enraged and imprisoned Shakuni, his father and all his brothers… And ordered to gradually starve them to death. As per his order, each of them was given only one rice to eat every day. Subala and his sons who thought to take revenge for this stringency happened to them… Thought to the most intelligent among them and talented Shakuni should survive to avenge their death… They started feeding Shakuni with all the food given to them. It was said that in order to make sure that he would forever remember to take revenge, they twisted his leg. Since then Shakuni became permanent limp. Before breathing his last, father of Shakuni requested him to make a dice of his backbone… And said his soul exists in them… And this powerful magic dice which spins the requested number. Everyone died likewise, Gandhari took pity on Shakuni who survived at last… And when she requested Dhritarashtra to set Shakuni free… Dhritarashtra had set Shakuni free and given him the Gandhara Kingdom. Shakuni who swore to wreak vengeance on the Kuru dynasty as a whole… He requested that he will not go to Gandhara kingdom and would live there itself as a guardian of all the hundred nephews. With that, Dhritarashtra accepts the request from Shakuni to stay there. Taking that as an advantage, Shakuni starts to apply his wicked thoughts. The tremendous nature of Shakuni was… He can estimate the strength and weakness of others and make them trust him. By applying his strategy on Kauravas… He instilled hate and wicked thoughts about the Pandavas in Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana… And he spurred them on to fight with Pandavas. Shakuni already knows that if they fight with Pandavas in a war… this would bring the eventual downfall of the Kuru dynasty. So, Shakuni instilled hate in Duryodhana towards Pandavas. He encouraged Dharmaraju who was fond of gambling and made him loose everything in the gambling game. During the war, Shakuni was responsible for trapping Abhimanyu in Padma Vyuha and killing him. He planned to burn the Pandavas alive inside the Palace of Wax. Likewise, using all his ideas, he was responsible for the great War of Kurukshetra. Without getting trapped by the enemies during 18 days of Kurukshetra war… All the Kauravas ended their lives on the last day… When only Duryodhana remained… Thinking that Pandavas would win the war… He thought of killing Sahadeva who was the younger one among them and put them in deep sorrow… And he will start a fierce fight. But, being the wisest and brave warrior… Sahadeva faced Shakuni on the battlefield and was able to kill Shakuni. With that, the chapter of Shakuni comes to an end in Mahabharata. Breathing his last, Shakuni recounted to Sahadeva all his hatred towards Kuru dynasty and all his plans it seems. Shakuni lived his entire life by committing crimes and evil deeds. Till his last breath, he tried to destroy the Kuru dynasty. Everyone in the Mahabharatha ended their lives due to the intelligence and politics strategies of Shakuni. Except one…He is none other than Lord Sri Krishna who is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Shakuni already knows that Lord Krishna is the more intelligent than him and he is the incarnation of god. That is why Shakuni never applied his strategies and his ideas on Lord Krishna. He already know that he have to face the problem with Krishna if he apply them on him. Even though our myths showed Ravana as a villain… He is been worshipped in Srilanka as a god… Although Shakuni is considered as a villain in Mahabharat… Kuravar community has built a shrine in Pavithreswaram village in Kollam District of Kerala and been worshiping Shakuni. The people who belong to this Kuravar community are the tribal people. They live mostly in the hills and forests. When Pandavas were on their Vanvaas (stay in the forest), Shakuni tried to disturb their journey with the help of Kauravas… And he came to this village for once when he was in search of them it seems. These tribal people who belong to Kuravar community provided facilities to Shakuni and Kauravas… As they served them with utmost care, the jubilant Shakuni presented them gems, gold jewels as gifts it seems. They treated Shakuni as god as he presented such costly things which can be found only at kings. Since then, they made his statue and started worshipping him. Likewise, even Shakuni has a temple dedicated to him. I will be back with few more interesting videos. If you do not want to miss those videos… Then do not forget to subscribe to our channel.
