Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Cigar Review by SmokingCigarGirl

HI I’m Nada with Smoking Cigar Girl and today
I’m going to be reviewing The Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Torpedo. This cigar is slightly
box pressed and is 6 1/4 inches by 52 ring gauge. The wrapper is a Ecuadorian Sumatra
with a Nicaraguan binder and filler from the Dominican and Nicaragua. The cigar has a very
smooth wrapper. No real visible veins. An earthy aroma at the foot of the cigar. And
a slightly cocoa flavor on the cold draw. There is a slightly peppery flavor on the
front of the palette, mixed with a little bit of wood as well. I’ll be back in a few minutes to discuss the
first 3rd of the cigar. The first third of the cigar has some peppery
flavors on the front of the palette with a little bit of earth and the finish was predominantly
woodsy. The cigar so far has a very easy draw and it started out with a slightly uneven
burn but then it worked itself out with any need for a touchup. The
second third of the cigar has some salty nutty
flavors on the front of the palette and the finish continued to be mostly woodsy with
a little bit of a saltiness coming through on the finish. The draw continues to be very
easy and the burn has almost completely evened out. The final third of this Rocky Patel Vintage
1992 Torpedo has had mostly nutty and earthy flavors on the front of the palette. The saltiness
that was present is now gone. The finish has been mostly peppery with a touch of woodsiness.
The cigar has had a very easy draw from the start to finish and had a consistent and even
burn, except for the minor issue in the beginning that evened itself out. The cigar is medium-full bodied with a lot
of rich flavors and is a medium strength really a great first of second cigar of the evening. All the cigars I review can be found at Cheaphumidors.com
and you can checkout their facebook page where they have some fun giveaways at facebook.com/cheaphumidors. As always I’d love to hear from you if there
is something you’d love to see me review in the future or if you have a thought about
this review.

  1. Thanks for that insightful review Nada. I've tried a few from the Rocky Patel line. Would enjoy seeing your review of the Ezra Zion Inception ….

  2. All you cigar fans out there, does weather play a role on how much you enjoy cigar? I seem to like it more when rain is pouring. My friend however likes it when temp is hot and very humid. Just wondering if this matters to you at all.

  3. Nada, Thanks for another great review. I enjoy your very concise and expert comments and look forward to future reviews. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

  4. I got one of these in a Rocky Patel sampler from Cigar Auctions. I personally tend to smoke a more mild cigar and found this a little strong for my taste. Agree on the even burn on the one I had as well.

  5. are still doing reviews, all I can find is 2011 and 2013 reviews and they are great ,but just wanting to know if you are doing new ones

  6. Thanks, I think your review is spot on. I tried this one in robusto and had a very similar overall experience. Thanks again!
